Willie J. Woods

Willie James Woods aka "Wip" was a PFC Marine Congressional Gold Medal Honorary and the beloved husband of Delores "Cookie" Woods for over 73 years. Through their union he become the proud father of Yvette W. Ross. Papa and Nanny, as they were affectionately known were grandparents of 3, (Antoin, Kym (deceased) and Alisha). Proud great-grandparents of 9 and great-great-grandparents of 8.

Wip was born in Chester, South Carolina on May 26, 1926. The Lord peacefully took him Home to Glory on Sunday, January 2, 2022. He was the youngest of two sons (Havard Woods deceased) born to Katie Woods and Munroe McCollum.


His life was filled with many accolades to boost, however he was known as a humble, caring, quiet giving, dedicated, loving man.
